Nearly 40 Students Receive New Beds

More than three dozen children in need received new beds through a partnership with Church of the Savior. The Family Resource Center at James Lane Allen Elementary (coordinator Madeline Potter) secured beds for 25 students, while the FRC at Garden Springs Elementary (Haley Buchanan) lined up 12 for their students. The church's donation included a mattress, bed frame, pillows, pajamas, underwear, socks, and a stuffed animal for each child!

Event leader Peggy Holman invited the students and their families to enjoy pizza, a coloring contest, and presentation of the beds on Saturday, Jan. 27, at nearby host Gardenside Christian Church (Pastor Greg Horn), and we had 100% attendance. Church of the Savior volunteers then delivered all of the beds to the homes immediately afterward. They even offered to put beds together for families who needed a hand.

"We are happy to have worked with such lovely and hardworking people to make these children happy," Potter said.
