Joey Sheroan

I am privileged to serve at Garden Springs, where we take pride in our accomplishments and strive each day to improve teaching and learning. This is my tenth year as your principal.  Before joining the staff at GSE, I worked in Bourbon County -- teaching for six years, serving as assistant principal for 10 years, and principal for four years. Garden Springs now feels like home, and I consider myself fortunate to be surrounded by a dedicated staff and supportive families who share in our mission of preparing all student for lifelong success.

I graduated from the University of Kentucky with a bachelor’s degree in Middle School Education and went on to earn my master’s in Instructional Leadership.  I consider myself a lifelong learner and continue to immerse myself in new learning opportunities including The Kentucky Leadership Academy, the Kentucky Chamber Foundation’s Leadership Institute for School Principals, and the National Institute for School Leaders.  Beyond education, I enjoy playing in local tennis leagues, supporting the UK Wildcats, and spending time with my wife, two sons, and daughter-in-law. 

At Garden Springs, we anchor our work around the core beliefs that continue to guide us toward success: Students must always be at the center of what we do, collaboration is key in building a strong learning community, establishing positive relationships is critical to our success, and student engagement is essential to learning. 

My door is always open, and I welcome your ideas for making Garden Springs the best school in the world. You are always welcome to visit, and we encourage you to volunteer when possible. Families are our partners in a child’s educational growth and social development. We need you, and we greatly appreciate you!
